Lieutenant Colonel (Dr.) Scott M. Everson currently serves as the Air Force Chief of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (OEM), Air Force Medical Readiness Agency (FOA), Defense Health Headquarters, Falls Church, VA. He also serves as the OEM consultant to the DAF Surgeon General. Colonel Everson provides occupational medicine consultative leadership in support of 178,000 civilian personnel, 76 military treatment facilities, and an annual $6.2 billion budget. He oversees the execution of Department of the Air Force Surgeon General policies and directives supporting USAF/USSF expeditionary capability and national security strategy. Additionally, he serves as the Chair of the Occupational Medicine Working Group which advises the Defense Safety Oversight Committee of the Secretary of Defense. This working group advises DSOC leadership on occupational medicine issues including medical qualification; medical surveillance; occupational exposure limits; medical recordkeeping; and reporting for personnel who are exposed to physical, chemical, or biological hazards in the workplace.
