What is Preventive, Occupational, and Aerospace Medicine?

Preventive, occupational, and aerospace medicine are specialized fields dedicated to protecting and promoting health in unique environments. Preventive medicine focuses on reducing disease risk, improving public health, and implementing
strategies like vaccinations, screenings, and lifestyle interventions. Occupational medicine ensures the health and safety of workers by addressing workplace hazards, injury prevention, and fitness-for-duty assessments. Aerospace medicine applies medical expertise to the challenges of human performance in aviation and spaceflight, supporting pilots, astronauts, and crew members. Together, these disciplines play a critical role in safeguarding individuals across diverse settings, from the workplace to the stratosphere and beyond.
